Under the Sea

Special earrings - a passion of mine are shells and anything from under the sea, so these earrings, which consist of a silver cast Sand Dollar with a beautiful hand cut and polished long drop of Spiny Oyster showing patterns in hues of glowing orange, are a treat!

The spiny oyster shell comes primarily from the Sea of Cortez off the eastern coast of Baja California & Mexico. It can range in colour from light yellow, vivid coral orange, dark red and purple are the rarest to find. Found in shallow and deep waters, they are found by hand

Sand dollars are species of flat, burrowing sea urchins. It's pretty rare to find one fully intact so when you do, it's a little hidden treasure

The beauty and brilliance of this colour orange is something I love and am happy to pair it with this casting of a real sand dollar - hence 'Under the Sea'
