Around 4 years ago research in China perfected the process of bead nucleating freshwater pearls, creating large pearls, up to 15mm, with a beautiful metallic lustre, plus much rounder and smoother than previous attempts. This new class of pearl is routinely known as Ming Pearls. They represent great quality and value for money, being used to create stunning pearl jewels.
